Okay, okay. So no one who buys the upcoming 530-horsepower, 204-mile-per-hour Porsche 911 GT2 is going to care particularly about gas mileage. But that didn’t stop Porsche, via advanced technology, to improve fuel economy by approximately 15 percent under full load compared with the previous GT2 model. And this includes the 50-hp bump in output.
The $191,700 USD supercar debuts at the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show this September boasting a substantial 530 horsepower and 505 foot-pounds of torque via a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter boxer inline-six. Porsche has fitted the turbos with larger compressor wheels and designed the turbines for better air flow, allowing greater boost pressures. Optimized intake chambers help keep the air/fuel mixtures cool, increasing overall efficiency.
Other high performance equipment includes titanium exhaust, ceramic composite disc brakes, active suspension, a six-speed manual transmission and 19-inch wheels. The rims are wrapped in 235/35-series front and 325/30-series rear tires. Although the car weighs 3,175 pounds, Porsche claims 0 to 60 mph runs in a scant 3.6 seconds.
